Employee alleges sexual harassment in Texas

Sexual advances, lewd comments, and other types of sexual harassment aren't welcome in a work environment. A hostile work environment is no place for you. With the help of an attorney, you may be able to get help with your case that will stop the harassment and get the compensation you deserve.

According to news released on Jan. 29, a female employee has alleged that the former chief financial officer at the University of Texas Medical Branch sexually harassed her. While some may think that sexual comments or flirting is okay in the workplace, it simply isn't, as this case shows. According to her claims, he commented on her sexually, going as far as to send texts to her and to suggest to her that she could have more vacation time if she unbuttoned the top of her shirt. The lewd behavior turned out to be too much for the woman, so she complained about them and that resulted in a sexual-harassment investigation.

Unfortunately, what started as flirtatious comments turned into outright anger when he found out that the female had complained about his advances to medical branch officials. The Texas Attorney's Office had her name redacted in those documents to protect her. She also claims that the medical branch officials ignored her complaints about the man.

When you face sexual harassment in your workplace, you need to know that you don't have to face it alone. There are laws in the books to protect you. An attorney may be able to help you seek the compensation and justice you require.
